Drederick Irving will be Kyrie’s first signature athlete as ANTA’s Chief Creative Officer of Basketball.
Kyrie Irving is once again making history, but this time it’s a family affair. The NBA star is set to become the first professional athlete to sign his dad to a signature shoe deal.
According to Shams Charania, Drederick Irving, who balled out at Boston University and later in Australia, will have his own ANTA signature shoe line. The shoes will reportedly drop exclusively at Foot Locker stores this September.
Family has always been at the core of Kyrie’s basketball journey and sneaker game. From his heartfelt collaborations with Sneaker Room, honoring their late mothers, to sporting his dad’s No. 11 jersey, and even drawing inspiration from his sister for the Nike Kyrie 6 “Asia” colorways, family ties run deep. This latest move to give his father a signature line feels like the perfect tribute.
A name for the signature shoe line has not been revealed. However, we anticipate more details of the line to arrive in the upcoming months.
