Larry Bird

With three NBA Championships, three NBA MVPs, and twelve NBA All Star appearances in thirteen years with the Boston Celtics, Larry Bird has earned the title as one of the greatest players to have ever played the game. Drafted in 1978 to the Boston Celtics, Bird played thirteen seasons with the Boston Celtics and retired from basketball after the 91-92 season. During his career, Bird averaged a double-double in points and rebounds, and will always be remembered as one of the NBA?s greatest of all time.

During the 1970?s and early 80?s, Converse dominated as the official shoe of the NBA, so of course they had to lace up the great Larry Bird in a pair. He started off his career wearing the Converse Pro, and wore them up until 1986 when he chose a different weapon.? Perhaps Converse?s second most iconic basketball shoe behind the Chuck Taylor, the Converse Weapon was the weapon of choice for many of the NBA?s greatest players after its release in 1986, including Bird. Many other great players also wore the Converse Weapon including Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas, Bernard King, Mark Aguirre, Kevin McHale, Robert Parrish, Bill Laimbeer, and Karl Malone.
