Greatness takes balls and LaVar Ball isn’t afraid to do what it takes to win. As father of the Ball boys — Lonzo Ball, LiAngelo Ball, and LaMelo Ball — LaVar Ball is CEO of Big Baller Brand and confirms the company’s return with the launch of a new silhouette.
LaVar took to Instagram to share a video of him wearing new Big Baller Brand apparel with a never-before-seen silhouette to match.
“These the coldest, softest shoes in the game. Trust me when I tell you,” said LaVar in the video. The CEO didn’t share much else about the shoes, but hinted that they would be coming soon and encouraged fans to get their Big Baller gear up.
The all-new silhouette is most comparable to the Yeezy Foam Runner as it has a black molded foam upper, treaded outsole, and slip-on function. Rather than incorporating perforations in the likeness of Crocs, the BBB silhouette has a metallic gold plate finished with open-air slits for breathability.
The shoe appears to come in an alternative colorway as LaVar shared another video to the Big Baller Brand Instagram in which he sported a white iteration of the silhouette.
LaVar let the shoe do all the talking as he sat back speechlessly in his Rolls Royce wearing a Big Baller Brand fit. The second colorway omits the metallic plate on the front and instead opts for a red/black Big Baller Brand graphic that matches the “BBB” logo on the forefoot.
When Big Baller Brand first launched, the company started with performance basketball footwear from Lonzo Ball, the Big Baller Brand ZO2 Prime and the Big Baller Brand ZO2.19, as well as the Big Baller Brand Gelo 3 from LiAngelo Ball.
LaMelo Ball also had his own signature shoe with the family business, the Big Baller Brand MB1, which he debuted at just 16-years-old. Since then, Melo has signed with Puma and his signature series with the Fastcat has been extremely popular amongst young hoopers, especially as Melo frequently releases vibrant colorways seen on the Puma MB.03 “LaFrancé,” the Puma MB.03 “Joker,” the PUMA MB.02 “Be You,” and the Rick and Morty x PUMA MB.02.
Melo’s signature Puma line is also championed for its accessible retail price tag, with pairs ranging between $120-$140. Meanwhile, Big Baller Brand has been criticized for its questionable prices in the past, as BBB entered the market selling the Big Baller Brand ZO2 Prime for $495.
The Big Baller brand ZO2.19 now goes for $180, but other high priced items are still offered on the company’s website including $200 BBB Slides and a trio of BBB Luxury Sneakers, which retail between $695-$895.
For the biggest ballers of them all, BBB also offers a $5,000 “Golden Ticket” sneaker and the $2,000 “Elephant in the Room” sneaker.
At this time, there’s no official name or release date for the new Big Baller Brand silhouette, but more information should be available soon. For more sneaker news and release dates, follow @NiceKicks on Instagram.
