The home of Finish Line, Indiana certainly has strong ties to the world of sneakers. Further strengthening its soleful bond, lawmakers decided to wear sneakers to work yesterday to both raise funds for the American Cancer Society and honor Representative David Wolkins, who is recovering from cancer. Invoking a casual dress day at the Indiana House of Representatives, the city officials raised almost $5,000. It’s acts like this that showcase the softer, compassionate side of kicks.
