Dating all the way back to 2003, LeBron James’ first ever sneaker with the Swoosh was the Nike Air Zoom Generation. James was just 18 years old when he laced up the AZG for the first time and naturally he was hyped for the occasion. But despite his excitement, James did the only natural thing when he unboxed the sneakers for the first time – he smelled them.
James talked about his first pair of Nike Air Zoom Generation sneakers in the debut episode of Uninterrupted’s The Shop, a digital show about the culture of sports that naturally takes place in a barber shop.
James’ candor about smelling his shoes is hilarious and also great to hear as it is yet another reminder that stars are just like us.
