Reigning Rookie of the Year and soon-to-be All-Star Luka Doncic put on a show on National TV earlier this month when facing off against the best in the game.

Going highlight for highlight with his hero, LeBron James, young Luka had a triple-double in the primetime showdown in only three-quarters. While the King got the best of him and the Mavs when it was all said and done, Luka got his idol’s respect.

While the international superstar has been getting buckets in Dallas wearing Nikes much like LeBron, a recent shot of Luka warming up suggests Under Armour could be swooping the young playmaker.

Lacing up the Under Armour Curry 7 in shoot around, could Luka be the face of the shoe while Steph is sidelined? The two have a good relationship as they’ve worked out together and Curry’s brother Seth is a starter on the Mavs.

In many ways, Luka to UA could make good sense for all involved. While Nike wouldn’t want to lose a rising star to a competitor, the Swoosh has a super-full stable of signature stars both active, retired and on the rise.

Under Armour on the other hand has stars aside from Steph in Joel Embiid and Dennis Smith Jr., however, neither have a signature model at this juncture.

Last night, Luka added steam to the UA narrative by hooping in the “Sour Patch Kids” Curry 7 for the actual game. This is the first time Luka has worn anything other than Nike in-game.

Will Luka stay with the Swoosh or jump camps? Is it possible other brands are also courting Luka at this juncture? Keep it locked to Nice Kicks for updates.
