Streetwear brand Maybe Tomorrow is taking its first venture into the footwear world with its upcoming capsule collection alongside Saucony.
Inspired by Aesop’s classic fable The Tortoise and the Hare, the Maybe Tomorrow x Saucony Capsule, fittingly called “Better Together”, comprises the 3D Grid Hurricane and Shadow 6000. The concept of the lineup is to echo the sentiment that runners are stronger together when they work towards a common goal.
The Maybe Tomorrow x Saucony 3D Grid Hurricane nods to the Tortoise character and boasts a fitting dark green textile upper, soft green suede overlays, and pebbled leather details to represent the animal’s shell. Over on the Maybe Tomorrow x Saucony Shadow 6000, the Hare-inspired silhouette sports a grey and white color scheme elevated with hairy suede overlays and textured laces to mimic the character’s fur.
On the collaboration, Mark Nguyen, co-founder of Maybe Tomorrow, shared, “I wanted to create a world where running with one another was better than competing against each other. We took the classic story and rewrote it to where the two characters come to the realization that they are “better together”, which my partner Ryan and I identified with. We found this story was the most metaphorical way to represent not just Saucony as a running brand, but the way we, as Maybe Tomorrow, came together as well.”
The Maybe Tomorrow x Saucony “Better Together” Capsule will be available to purchase via ComplexCon in Long Beach starting November 19, then via Maybe Tomorrow on November 25. The pairs will then drop globally on December 1. The 3D Grid Hurricane will retail for $160 USD and the Shadow 6000 will be priced at $150 USD.
