Over the years, much has been made of Michael Jordan being cut from his varsity basketball team in the late ’70s. Jordan, of course, persevered, and became what many believe to be the best player to ever pick up a basketball. Now any player that attends his alma mater, Laney High School in North Carolina, is no doubt reminded of his harrowing tale and that sheer will and dedication often trumps talent.
Jordan Brand continues to punctuate those heroics at Laney today with an all-new Jumpman friendly court and glowing shoe display. They’ve also aided the school in adding a media center, updated the class and locker rooms, and simply continuing to be a presence in the school’s ongoing success.
