While at the Air Jordan XXX3 launch in LA, we had the chance to chop it up with the JB team about all things performance and all things MJ. While Mike is still the lead dog when it comes to seeing and approving the newest signature model, his favorite shoe at the moment is the one that started it all: the Air Jordan 1.
However, it wasn’t always like that.
“Ironically, when we really started to evolve the game shoe, Michael wasn’t on the 1,” explained Gentry Humphrey. “He played in it, and as we started to build great products over time, he wasn’t on it anymore.”
Needless to say, that’s changed again over time.
“Now, the dude rocks the 1s like no other!” Gentry told us. “Every color – mid, lows – he’s become the 1 king. I’m actually shocked by that because I was with him when he wasn’t.”
The more things change, the more things stay the same.
