In major news, adidas and Major League Soccer (MLS) have announced a multi-year partnership extension, which marks a continuation of their successful partnership that began in 1996. The renewed partnership will see adidas continue as the official sponsor of MLS uniforms, footwear, apparel, and equipment.
As part of the partnership, adidas and MLS will also collaborate on a number of initiatives aimed at promoting the growth of soccer in the United States and Canada as well as providing key development efforts with MLS NEXT Pro and MLS NEXT. These initiatives include the creation of a new youth development program that will focus on identifying and nurturing young soccer talent, especially ahead of the 2026 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by Canada, the US, and Mexico.
“We are very proud to be extending our partnership with Major League Soccer. It is incredible to see the growth and success of the League and soccer in North America and the work that has been done,” said adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden. “Soccer is an important part of our history and who we are at adidas. We are committed to helping grow the game and could not be more excited as we approach the 2026 World Cup hosted by the U.S., Canada and Mexico.”
