For its latest collaboration, Finnish sneaker and lifestyle brand Karhu is placing the beloved Moomin front and center.

Moomins, which was created by illustrator/author Tove Jansson in 1945, is a family of carefree characters that resemble the hippopotamus. The forthcoming Moomin x Karhu Collection will comprise of the label’s signature Aria 95 and Fusion 2.0 silhouettes, each embellished with the iconic figure of Moomintroll, with his wide eyes, perky ears, and oversized snout.

Directly inspired by the story of Moominpappa at Sea, the Fusion 2.0 sports an “India Ink/Chambray Blue” colorway on its suede and ballistic nylon construction. Over on the Aria 95, the pair is dressed in “Dawn Blue/Sleet” and sports a reflective “M” logo. Lastly, each pair features pops of red, inspired by Moomintroll’s scarf, and vibrant geometric patterns that highlight the colors of Moominvalley.

Interested readers can purchase models from the Moomin x Karhu Collection when they release on February 4 via KARHU.com, both Karhu Concept Stores in Helsinki and Verona, and select retailers worldwide. The Aria 95 will retail for $145 and the Fusion 2.0 for $150.
