Nick Young is one guy who’s never lacking in the rare sneakers department. Both on and off the court, we’ve seen the Golden State shooter rock some of the most coveted kicks that are out there.
Whether it’s a pregame ‘fit featuring an unreleased Yeezy 700 silhouette or balling against the New York Knicks in an unreleased Yeezy Desert Rat 500, Young never disappoints when it comes to sneakers.
Nick Young designing personal samples at adidas Brooklyn Creator Farm Pop UpSo it comes as no surprise that when All-Star Weekend came around, it was time to shine for Swaggy P — especially when rolling through adidas’ 747 Warehouse St!
Adjacently designing our own adidas basketball sneaker samples at the invitation-only 747 Brooklyn Creator Farm Pop Up led by adidas’ executives designers, we caught up with Young to get a better idea of what kicks he’s keeping around these days. Specifically, for an event as big as All-Star Weekend.
Check out Nick Young’s sneaker rotation below, in our latest installment of My 5 Mondays.
adidas Yeezy Powerphase “Grey”
Nick Young: I brought the Grey Calabasas with me to All-Star. I really like to keep these around, man. The “Dad” Yeezys, just because those are my walk arounds, you know? I wear those just to walk around in. Actually, the funny thing about the “Dad” Yeezys is that my son actually goes to the same school as Kanye’s daughter. So that’s interesting.
Raf Simmons x adidas Ozweego III
“I still have trouble pronouncing the name of the shoe — Ozway? Or is it Ozwee? [Laughs]”
Nick Young: You know those black and purple joints that just dropped? I actually just got those. I still have trouble pronouncing the name of the shoe — Ozway? Or is it Ozwee? [Laughs] But yeah, those are not my only pair of Rafs man. I’ve got a lot of colors of those for sure.
Revenge x Storm Sneakers
Nick Young: Ok this is just what I got with me for All-Star Weekend — so, I brought with me the regular black and the regular green ones. But I have another pair too. I liked those plaid joints Ian dropped a while back too, but I just can’t find them anywhere. It’s kind of hard to get my size in these period. So that’s the thing. People buy them more in smaller sizes, so it’s hard.
2 Chainz x Versace Chain Reaction
“I was like, ‘Dawg, where can I get those?’ And it was just like that — off the foot, 2 Chainz gave them to me right here at 747 Warehouse.”
Nick Young: I got some 2 Chainz Versaces with me. I ran into him out there, he blessed me with those yesterday. 2 Chainz hooked me up with the exclusives man. I seen him here, and we kind of wear like the same size. So you know I had to ask him, I was like, Dawg, where can I get those? And it was just like that — off the foot, 2 Chainz gave them to me right here at 747 Warehouse.
adidas Yeezy Desert Rat 500 “Blush”
Nick Young: Of course I keep the Yeezys, I gotta have every colorway man. When it comes to the Yeezys though, hmm.. do I have a favorite one? I like the dad shoe ones man. The 700s! Those are nice. I pretty much got… well, I can’t give them all out, but yeah, yeah I got some stuff man. I’m kind of mad, they’re still holding my package here — you know those Desert Rats that just came out yesterday? I actually came to pick them up today. I wanted to be wearing them here, that’s why I’m kinda mad [Laughs]. But yeah, of course, the Desert Rats, I can’t wait to see them up close.
Keep up with Young via Instagram and be sure to tune in as the Golden State Warriors take on the Trailblazers this Friday.
