Weatherproof enhancements are in the works as the upcoming nanamica x PUMA Suede VTG GTX provides winterized technology on a classic sneaker silhouette. Nanamica uses their Japanese heritage to uplift craftsmanship and deliver stylish function.
For the first time ever, the PUMA Suede VTG gets dressed in GORE-TEX as the Fastcat uses nanamica’s signature textile. Coming in colorways of grey and blue, both iterations are entirely monochromatic and outfitted in durable GORE-TEX suede.
“For our first collaboration with nanamica we wanted to create something that would be instantly recognizable as a partnership between both brands,” said Ayesha Atlee, Head of Design Sportstyle Footwear for PUMA. “We decided to leverage the PUMA Suede because of its timeless design, mixing it with nanamica’s neutral swatches and their signature use of GORE-TEX fabric was a must to accomplish our vision.”
Nanamica stays lowkey as they take a backseat in the branding department. Aside from the nanamica printed insole, the rest of the branding elements remain dedicated to PUMA, with a Fastcat tongue tag and smooth leather Sidestripe. However, GORE-TEX makes its presence known with a small tag against the eyestay.
The nanamica x PUMA Suede VTG GTX releases on August 27, 2022. The price is unknown. To purchase, visit nanamica.com and select retailers. For more sneaker news and release dates, follow @NiceKicks on Instagram.
