WNBA star Natasha Cloud is receiving her very own All Star BB Evo PE courtesy of Converse. Cloud’s Converse All Star BB Evo “Petal To the Metal” PE marks the very first time a WNBA athlete has ever been given their own player edition sneaker. This news holds greater impact considering Cloud sat out the 2020 season to put her full energy towards supporting the social justice movement that swept the nation (and the world) last summer.

The Converse All Star BB Evo “Petal To the Metal” PE sports a watercolor-esque aesthetic in hues of “Pink Foam,” “Chambray Blue” and “Spring Green,” while a rose graphic, paying homage to Cloud’s tattoos, is emblazoned on the midsole’s lateral rear. In terms of construction, the pair features a 5/8 cut upper made from mesh and synthetic overlays, while down below the midsole and outsole combines Nike’s React foam with proprietary Converse foam to provide the ultimate comfort. Lastly, Converse branding along with the ubiquitous Chevron logo is can be found on the inner heel clip and lateral quarter.

“Petal to the Metal” verbiage is inspired by Cloud’s ability to “bloom bravely in all areas of her life,” according to Converse. Interested readers will be able to purchase Natasha Cloud’s Converse All Star BB Evo “Petal To the Metal” PE when it releases on June 3 via Converse.com and select retailers. The retail price is set at $120.
