Boston-based sportswear brand New Balance has been shaking things up as of late. Whether it’s bringing back heritage silhouettes like the 550, revamping old styles like the 1906, or setting the standard with new designs like the XC-72 — New Balance is definitely in the midst of a transformation. For their latest number, a New Balance 529 Sample surfaces online, giving us a first look as to what’s next for the brand.

It seems that the initial offering of the New Balance 529 will come in a tonal makeup with monochromatic shades of beige leather. Compared to other New Balance silhouettes, this sneaker steers clear of a rounded toe and opts for a more angular finish. The upper features numerous overlays that balance curvature and sharp lines. The stacked overlays give this sneaker a lot of potential for creative color combos and experimental textiles.

Take a look at the New Balance 529 Sample below. For more sneaker news and release dates, follow @NiceKicks on Twitter.
