Many companies shelled out millions to have metallic gold sneakers on the feet of the world’s best athletes last month, but New Balance decided to instead put that money into their products. This year is the 20th Anniversary of the New Balance 576 and while your grandparents probably celebrated it with a new China set, the jewelry industry has re-written traditions for the 20th to be the “platinum anniversary.” That may explain things for one colorway of the metallic 576’s, but you can’t go wrong with metallic gold either.
