Ahead of the 2023-24 NBA season, Los Angeles Clippers small forward Kawhi Leonard reveals that his latest signature model, the New Balance Kawhi 4, arrives early next year in February 2024.
At this time, the design details remain under wraps, but enhanced performance specs are to be expected, as well as a slew of new colorways.
“There’s a pink pair, a standard black pair, and a light blue pair,” said Kawhi Leonard at Clippers media day.
Since joining New Balance in 2019, Leonard has been very hands on with the sneaker design process and has released three signature models with the brand. Leonard continued to work close with New Balance as they designed his upcoming New Balance Kawhi 4.
“I’m there from the start,” said Leonard. “From picking the silhouette to textiles, looking at the midsoles, materials, and how it feels.”
Leonard’s current model, the New Balance Kawhi 3, debuted earlier this year in February and was the first basketball sneaker to have New Balance’s Energy Arc technology.
“The [New Balance Kawhi 3] brought out the performance side and comfort in a basketball shoe. The [New Balance Kawhi 4] is going to be even better,” said Leonard.
For the remainder of 2023, Clippers fans can expect to see Leonard in the New Balance Kawhi 3, which features a lightweight knit upper with a seamless half-bootie, carbon fiber arc plate, FuelCell cushioning, and a sculpted heel that offers a natural and responsive sense of support.
The New Balance Kawhi 4 arrives February 2024, but first looks could hit the hardwood as early as December 2023. For more sneaker news and New Balance release dates, follow @NiceKicks on Instagram.
