New Balance celebrates its most notable colorway in global “Grey Day” launch. As one of the most recognizable silhouettes today, the grey New Balance 574 is derived from a strong lineage of 500 series in 1980 which first introduced a full grey upper.

Two years later, New Balance 990 dropped the grey suede and mesh colorway as its first performance silhouette. Transforming the muted qualities of the aforementioned hue, the Boston-based imprint eventually was able to redefine the color – giving it vitality which would eventually lead the way to its iconic status. Designed to bridge both lifestyle and street running, the 574 continues to live on as a cult classic.

Shot in a 35mm black and white film, New Balance’s “Grey Day” lookbook, celebrates the brand’s timeless tonality with upbeat vibes and youthful energy. The concept taps into the color widely associated with the iconic iteration and juxtaposes it against a triumphant background.

Celebrate “Grey Day” with the 574, available on New Balance’s official site now.
