Today, New Balance has officially announced the newest signee, Boston Celtics rookie Aaron Nesmith. Nesmith now joins fellow New Balance athletes Kawhi Leonard, Jamal Murry, Darius Bazely, and Dejounte Murray.
The former Vanderbilt standout had this to say about his deal with New Balance, ” I am incredibly excited to be joining the New Balance Family, and especially for the opportunity to join the hometown brand. New Balance is different in how they have approached basketball and I am excited to be a part of that growth with them.”
As part of his contract, Nesmith will be wearing the New Balance TWO WXY and will debut various player exclusive silhouettes on the court this year. However, details on the rookie’s contract have not been specified but, New Balance has revealed his contract is part of a multi-year deal.
Aside from sneakers, the Celtics forward will become part of The Boston Celtics Playbook Initiative. First introduced during the 2016-2017 season, the Playbook Initiative educates children on social issues like race, religion, sexuality, and disability. The goal of the program provides the tools necessary to help the next generation end discrimination.
