Converse, in a concerted effort to add contemporary aesthetics to their heritage-based silhouettes, today debuts the all-new Auckland Modern.

Inspired by Converse’s rich history in running innovation, which dates back to the 1970’s and 80’s when they partnered with elite athletes and coaches, the low-cut style employs a split knit upper to ensure lightweight comfort and a secure fit. What’s more, leaning on their valuable affiliation with Nike, Converse makes great use of Hyperfuse construction to ensure proper durability while also forging a Phylon outsole with traction centric flex grooves.

Much like the Converse All Star Modern last month, this move is another in a series of elevated sartorial enhancements flowing through the American footwear brand. “The Converse Auckland Modern is the latest in a series of new sneaker drops that are fusing our sporting heritage with modern design,” expressed Brian Cioffi, Vice President/Creative Director of Converse Global Footwear. “For the release we’ve taken inspiration from our running history and have modernized an iconic sneaker with new construction and modern materials.”

The budding style will debut in five colorways – Black/Soar, Black/White, Black/Lucid Green, Black/Action Red and Black/Dark Grey.

Look for the Converse Auckland Modern beginning July 21 at a retail price of $110 at Converse retail locations and online.
