The ultimate hybrid hiking sneaker gets inspiration from an original on the New Balance H710. Inspired by famed Mount?Rainier hiker Lou Whittaker, the shoe is an adaptation of Whittaker’s hiking shoes. A toe injury forced Whittaker to hike in New Balance running shoes instead of heavy boots early in his prime. He liked hiking in the the lightweight sneakers so much he suggested adding a lug sole to them.
While not identical to the hikers worn by Whittaker, the New Balance H710 takes strong design cues from them and offers a more progressive and stylish version. The shoe is expected to drop internationally later on this year, but keep checking Nice Kicks for more release info.
