DeAndre Hopkins, Houston Texans wide receiver and the first player to ever score a touchdown in adidas Yeezy 350 Cleats, was just fined by the NFL.
Earlier this evening, Hopkins was fined $6,000 by the league for wearing the famed cleats designed by Kanye West. The cleats were also worn in Week 1 of the NFL season by other adidas endorsed athletes including Von Miller, Adrian Peterson and Sammy Watkins.
The NFL has not yet specified as to why they fined Hopkins the heavy tax, but the wideout did say that he would wear the cleats again “only if Kanye wants to pay the fine.”
Of course, the most famous case of sneakers being banned by a profession sports league centers around the Air Jordan 1. And, well, we all know how that worked out for Nike.
Stay tuned for more on this developing story.
