Michael Jordan Plays Pro Baseball
Michael Jordan is the biggest star sport has ever seen. After reaching the height of heights in 1993 by winning his third straight NBA Championship, MJ retired from the game of basketball and later took to baseball as a way to honor his late father. The move is still unmeasured by today’s standards and almost hard to believe. Can you imagine LeBron or KD quitting hoops to take up football or hockey? Toss around the idea in your head and multiply the magnitude by ten.
While Jordan’s journey to play baseball in Birmingham wouldn’t last more than one season (still, 127 games), it remains memorable. MJ laced up a cleated version of the Air Jordan 9, the first signature of Mike’s to be appropriated for both a different sport and a different surface.
