Memory Lane
Miss Info knew Illmatic was an instant classic in ’94, but nobody knew what Air Jordan retros were about to be. An utter flop at retail, the masses were not ready for a re-release of the Air Jordan 3 only six years after its debut, while only some showed love to the return of the Air Jordan 1. Was it a salty reminder that Mike might be done with basketball or were they just ‘old shoes’ at that point? It’s tough to call now, but proved even tougher to call then as retro Jordans have went on to dominate sneaker culture 20 years after their introduction.
