Nike Air Griffey Max 1 “Fresh Water” – Peter Sim
Finally, Nike is hitting their retro stride in 2009 with the Eggplant Foams, Safety Orange 95s, the Air Pegasus, and the Air Griffey Max. I would venture to say that Ken Griffey Jr’s signature line is right behind MJ, Penny, and Bo Jackson’s in the level of consistency and anticipation every time their sneaker dropped. Although I wish they released Griffey’s 1995 shoe with the “JR” on the tongue, beggars can’t be choosers. I still have the button and poster from the Griffey in 96 campaign with George Clinton – back when Weiden+Kennedy was strong-arming the footwear game.
