adidas Originals teams up with Nice Kicks on a new collaborative release, presenting premium takes on the brand’s modern-retro Crazy 1 ADV and Crazy 8 ADV.
Channeling Venice Beach Courts as an inspiration source highlights a distinctive color palette of classic ‘90s sportswear, the collaboration is distinguished by flashes of pink, purple and aqua against a clean backdrop of whites, bringing the nostalgia of Adidas’ groundbreaking Crazy series to the forefront of each shoe’s modern design.
First up, the Adidas Crazy 1 ADV steps out in a strictly high-end form, featuring a mesh construction with premium suede overlays and elastic webbing around the collar. The crisp white mesh is contrasted with an off-white midsole tooling, emphasizing the shoe’s nostalgic feel, finished with a leather insert on the midsole, Nice Kicks’ branding on the lateral side and premium joint-branded details on the tongue.
In similar form, the Adidas Crazy 8 ADV assumes the same mesh construction with premium suede overlays at the heel and elastic at the collar with distinctive midsole windows serving as a point of contrast. The left and right shoe’s windows are rendered in Shock Pink and Energy Aqua respectively, while collaborative branding details on each toe feature similar contrast details. This is then placed atop a two-tone midsole with concealed Boost™ technology and metal details in the shoe’s lacing system, creating a truly elevated take on one of Adidas’ most daring silhouettes.
Releasing on February 15th exclusively at Nice Kicks DTLA, the result is a collaboration that pushes the striking aesthetic of Crazy ADV to its furthest point yet, combining an uncompromisingly modern model with a color scheme and disruptive design to match.
