The NIGO x Nike Partnership Officially Begins with the Air Force 3 Low

NIGO‘s collaborative tenure with Nike is on the horizon as the NIGO x Nike Air Force 3 Low kicks off the partnership.

Earlier this year, rumors of NIGO x Nike grew shortly after the NIGO x adidas partnership did not get renewed in 2023. The speculation became solidified as NIGO debuted his forthcoming NIGO x Nike Air Force 3 Low during Paris Fashion Week.

Serving as a full-circle moment, the creator of the AF1-inspired BAPE STA will now lead the charge on a member of the Air Force line.

The Nike Air Force 3, a lesser-known gem from the iconic Air Force line, made its debut in 1988 as the evolution of the Air Force series. Designed primarily for basketball, the model featured Nike’s cutting-edge Air cushioning technology and reinforced stability, making it a performance-driven shoe on the court.

With a high-top silhouette, bold lines, and prominent branding, the Air Force 3 stood out among its predecessors. It showcased unique midsole ridges and a more rugged build compared to the Air Force 1, enhancing its durability.

The Air Force 3 was also instrumental in the continuation of cementing Nike’s dominance in basketball culture during the late ‘80s. Despite not achieving the same level of mainstream recognition as its earlier or later counterparts, its vintage appeal and chunky aesthetic have kept it a staple for collectors and retro enthusiasts.

Now, NIGO will bring a newfound energy to the nearly-forgotten model with a multi-color iteration with premium materials.

The NIGo x Nike Air Force 3 Low releases for $160 on September 28, 2024, exclusively at Otsumo Plaza in Tokyo, humanmade.jp, and the “I Know Nigo 2” pop-up in New York, followed by a global launch on October 4, 2024, on SNKRS and at select retail locations.
