The Beijing Winter Olympic Games are around the corner and Nike has unveiled their collection for the event which included a new boot to be worn on the medal stand for US athletes featuring Nike’s ease of access FlyEase technology.
“For the official Team USA Medal Stand look in Beijing, we worked closely with the disability community, including current and former winter and summer Paralympians, in our design and testing process, and used inclusive design principles and methods to create gear that ensures every athlete who competes feels support in style from start to finish,” Nike said in a press release.
The rugged boot comes in a tonal light grey colorway with navy and red accenting throughout. Flywire is used to reduce weight yet be durable and a toggle lacing system is used. GORE-TEX is featured on the boot as well, to keep your feet dry in all conditions with the Swoosh and ACG logo appearing in red on the lateral side and ankle collar respectively. Nike’s FlyEase system is used on the heel, with parallel zippers running down the back of the boot with the zippers conjoined by a toggle to easily secure your foot in. ACG branding is seen on the heel with Zoom Air featured in the midsole for comfort and a rugged outsole finishes off the boot.
The Nike ACG Gaiadome FlyEase Boot is scheduled to drop in the near future on Nike.com along with the rest of the medal stand apparel. Check out the photos from Nike below and for all the latest drop dates, head over to our Sneaker Release Dates page.
