The Nike Air Flight Lite returned for a good run in 2008-2009 and has been hitting US doors for the holiday season with some more coming in 2015. The Air Flight Lite debuted in 1991 and was the first Nike Flight shoe to sport the clear sole. The shoe was most notably worn by Scottie Pippen in the NBA as well as Sydney Deane in White Men Can’t Jump.
This colorway of the Nike Air Flight Lite High in “University Red” is very reminiscent of the All Star Maestro Flights that Pippen wore in the 1993 NBA All-Star Game with a predominantly red upper, white swoosh, and black accents. Currently the “Univesity Red” Air Flight Lite is only available in Japan, but hopefully we will see the shoe hit stores in the US.
