Before becoming the NBA icon he is today, Kevin Garnett was just an incredibly lanky forward from South Carolina with worlds of potential, looking to showcase his talents on the main stage. As mentioned previously, Garnett grew up in Mauldin, South Carolina but eventually found his way to the Windy City as he attended Farragut Academy and teamed up with Chi-town legend Ronnie Fields. Thoroughly dominating his competition, Garnett would eventually declare for the 1995 NBA draft in which he would be selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the 5th pick in the draft.
