Nike is leaning back into the Foamposite wave as the Nike Air Foamposite One “Cough Drop” is rumored to return in 2025.
Originally released in 2010, the Foamposite shell flaunted a sleek black upper, highlighted by glossy red accents along the outsole, which drew parallels to the iconic cough drop candy and earned the sneaker its unique name.
Designed by Eric Avar for Penny Hardaway in 1997, the Air Foamposite One has transcended the hardwood to become a streetwear staple. The “Cough Drop” edition arrived at the height of Nike Basketball and the Foamposite era, appealing to longtime fans and newcomers alike. As Nike’s push for the Foam continues with the “Galaxy” and “Metallic Copper” iterations releasing soon, the return of the “Cough Drop” iteration is another reason for fanatics of the shoe to rejoice.
The Nike Air Foamposite One “Cough Drop” is rumored to release in Fall 2025 via SNKRS and select retailers. A price point has not been announced.
