Where to buy the Nike Air Force 1 Fontanka “Doernbecher”
Official photos of the Nike Air Force 1 Fontanka “Doernbecher” have finally surfaced. The sneaker was designed by Cidni O’Brien, who was diagnosed with anomalous aortic origin of the left coronary artery, a critical condition that means her heart wasn’t getting enough oxygen, causing poor cardiac function.
After major heart surgery, the 16-year-old Cidni was able to play soccer again for her high school team. And rightfully so, her Air Force 1 Fontanka “Doernbecher” pays tribute to her teammates, as well as her beloved animals. The names of each can be seen emblazoned on the laces and they include Tito (parrot); Bosco (donkey); Cheez-its, Thoober, and Jonathan (goats); Carol Bask-hen (chicken); Copper (dog); and Swim Shady (fish), and many more.
Elsewhere, her horse Tank is spotlighted on the left sockliner, while her mother, Nikki, is featured on the other. “I got Tank because I didn’t know if I’d ever play soccer again, and he really helped cheer me up,” Cidni explained. “And my mom is my hero. I wouldn’t be here without her.” Other favorites of hers can also be seen such as shrimp pasta on the outsole, while little heart embellishments, nodding to her condition, are seen throughout.
