The summer season might as well be renamed to “Huarache Season.” At least, that’s the memo that Nike got, blessing the sneaker world with a double-kick duo of the Nike Air Huarache Drift Breathe.

The Huarache has become more or less a sneaker franchise in and of itself, spawning innumerable offshoots of the original since its inception in 1991. Now, we see it in “Drift Breathe” form, featuring modern tooling and lightweight, breathable materials and in “Sand” and “Clay Green” colorways.

Apparent are some similar elements to the OG Air Huarache via the shoe’s caged heel counter, as leather panels are swapped out for engineered mesh on the toebox, coupled with neoprene holding the ankle in place. Rope laces are in place to hold it all together while original Huarache branding patches at the tongue also maintain the sneaker’s heritage.

Both colorways of the Nike Air Huarache Drift Breathe are available now for €136 EUR (~$162 USD) each at Footshop. Check out the details below and let us know whether these are a cop for you this summer.
