Nike is digging into the archives of the Nike Alpha Project era as of late with the recent retro of the Nike Air Tuned Max and next year brings the return of another Alpha Project sneaker in the Nike Air Kukini.
This is the first time that the Air Kukini is returning in its OG form, with Stussy releasing a Kukini with a Nike Spiridon Cage 2 midsole and a version with a Free midsole years ago. The no-lace sneaker features a plastic webbing over the upper to make your foot fit more securely with pulltabs on the tongue and heel for easy in and out access. Branding is minimal, with the Swoosh appearing on the tongue and the 5 dots on the heel overlay which represents it’s a Nike Alpha Project sneaker. A visible Air unit is used on the heel with a rugged outsole to finish off the sneaker.
The Nike Air Kukini is set to drop sometime in 2022, most likely on Nike.com and at select retailers with a price tag that is still unknown. Check out the early photos of two colorways, Triple Black and Olive, below and stay tuned to our Sneaker Release Dates page for any updates.
