On April 27th, the Netherlands celebrates Koningsdag, aka King’s Day, which marks the monarch’s birthday.

To celebrate the festivities this year, Nike is dropping a special “King’s Day” Air Max 1. During the day, people around the Netherlands hold a “free market” where locals sell used items and wear lots of orange. To highlight the nation’s color, the Nike Air Max 1 “King’s Day” features various orange hits throughout its design. The pair is further dressed in cacao wow, amber brown, monarch, and earth tones to honor the oranjegkte fervor. Moreover, the premium offering is further elevated with woodgrain-pattern textile accents, velcro tongue tags and leather interiors. Down below is a brown midsole with signature visible Air Max units in the heels.

Interested readers can purchase the Nike Air Max 1 “King’s Day” when it releases this Spring 2024 via Nike.com and select retailers for $140. Keep it locked to our Sneaker Release Dates Calendar for updates.
