The Nike Air Max 1 could very well be the shoe that turned Nike around. Designer Tinker Hatfield did the unthinkable and proposed to expose the shoe’s Air unit. Innovative (and ridiculed) at the time, the shoe has morphed into an icon that has as much significance today as it did back when it released in 1987.
While the year 2020 is dedicated to the Air Max 90 and its 30th anniversary, the Swoosh is still cooking up some mean colorways of the first Air Max. Recently, it was unofficially announced that the Nike Air Max 1 “Lemonade” from the 2006 Powerwall collection would be released in 2020. Now, another leak is indicating that an alternate pine green version will also release this fall.
Stay tuned as we learn about the pair. Meanwhile, take a look at a mock-up courtesy of Py_Rates on Twitter.
