Tinker Hatfield is by most if not all measures the most decorated sneaker designer of all time.
His work in Nike running, cross training, hiking and of course the Air Jordan line give him a catalog deeper and more impressive than any peer with both retail releases and sketchbook homages exciting the masses.
Leaning on the latter while becoming the former is the Nike Air Max 1 “Tinker Sketch” which we see in greater detail today.
As seen, the shoe riffs off the OG Nike Air Max from 1987 while adding sketch notes to the upper as an aesthetic homage.
Just the same, tagging on the lining references recent work from Virgil Abloh in regard to branding. There’s nothing like the OG seen below, but these are certainly a smart story from the Swoosh.
The Nike Air Max 1 “Tinker Sketch” does not have a specific release date at the moment but is said to launch in September of 2019.
We’ll post updates here at Nice Kicks as we learn more.
