The upcoming Nike Air Max 1 Premium “Hangul Day” commemorates the South Korean holiday for the birth of the Korean language and omits the AM1’s legendary Air unit, which seems blasphemous given the sneaker’s history, but Nike makes up for it by carving out a silhouette of the staple fixture.
They say you don’t know what you have until it’s gone and this Nike Air Max 1 puts that theory to the test. Without the signature Air Bubble the midsole looks a bit passe, but it does offer a modern aesthetic that is sure to satisfy the minimalists. The sneaker is made up of various overlays crafted with leather and suede with a clear overlay of “???”, which is Nike in Korean on the heel. Featuring shades of “Summit White,” “Sail,” Coconut Milk,” “Light Bone,” and “Phantom,” the colorway has a tonal finish that is as timeless as the silhouette itself.
The Nike Air Max 1 Premium “Hangul Day” is set to drop on November 17, 2022. The retail price is set at $160. To purchase, visit the Nike SNKRS app and at select retailers. Check out the photos below and for more sneaker news and release dates, follow @NiceKicks on Twitter.
