This year has seemed a bit like Attack of the Clones with hybrids between the Dunks and the Prestos, a three way with the Dunks, Trainers, and Free, and a swingers party at the Jordan Brand office. Next year there will be more Hybrids on the streets, but not the kind that Al Gore is campaigning for.
We have already seen mash-ups of Air Force Ones with numerous shoes and a few unsightly unique Jordan Fusions, but the Air Max 90 is getting remixed with the Nike Free. The shoe will be outfitted with a lighter weight, flexible sole as well as a breathable mesh predominantly mesh upper and tongue. Something very interesting about these is that the shoe does not have a toe box as the breathable mesh is one piece for the upper and tongue.
The shoes are also Nike + / iPod ready. I am sure Nike has been to enough sneaker events to notice that all those hours on the computer searching for shoes doesn’t keep heads in the best physical condition…
According to LilAIPHI of NikeTalk, both will be out between July and September of 2008. Its beginning to look like next year is going to be unlike any other.
