For the month of April, Nike is expanding its cork plant-inspired lineage with a stealthy Air Max 97 “Cork”. Unlike previous “Cork” outfits that have surfaced, this upcoming AM97 sports darker tones, comprised of “Hasta,” “Obsidian,” and “Thunder Blue,” instead of a predominately “White” and “Wheat” color scheme.
Of course, highlighting the pair is cork material found on the wave-constructed overlays, along with an embroidered cork plant on the tongue.
The pair is also eco-friendly considering it is made from about 20% recycled content including Recycled Poly Canvas and other textiles. Below, the outsole is made from 9% recycled cork, partially sourced from the wine industry.
Interested readers will be able to pick up the Nike Air Max 97 “Cork” when it releases on April 29 via select retailers and Nike.com for $180.
