Nike has tried this hybrid thing before when they thought the Air Jordan Force Fusion would be fire. Jordan Brand and Air Force 1’s were in their prime at the time, so Tinker, MJ and Marc Dolce cooked up what they thought would be an amazing idea. It wasn’t. Aside from those three legends and their careers, those hybrids barely deserved to be strung from power lines.
With that being said, Nike rides the 2017’s Air Max 97 wave together with the surge and return of the Air Max Plus to create their newest fusion creation. In a one for one swap, the Air Max 97 gets Tuned Air tooling while the Air Max Plus acquires the 97’s full-length Air. Nike hit a flawless victory with the execution this time around. I’ll be sure to get myself a pair with the 97 upper. I’m also hoping they’ll drop an icy white version in the future.
The black on white 97 Tune Up pack drops November 20th. Receive your blessings at UNheardofbrand and other Nike retailers.
