Somehow turning into the Coachella of sneakers, Nike Air Max Day is very much a thing and it appears 2018‘s installment will be very much of an event on this shoe holiday turned retail rendezvous.
From can’t miss collabs to vault favorites, there’s a lot dropping on March 26, 2018 and on the dates leading up.
While it’s been known for months that the Sean Wotherspoon x Nike Air Max 97/1 Hybrid will launch in much greater availability on Air Max Day, their will be many an OG and new pair joining them on said date and on the days leading up.
Leading off the retro part of the campaign is the Nike Air Max 180 in its beloved “Ultramarine” colorway. The shoe has been seen in bringback form many times, most notably as part of 2005/2006’s History of Air Campaign. In addition, the Nike Air Max 93 in its famed “Menthol” makeup will return. Both shoes drop ahead of Air Max Day 2018, releasing on February 2nd.
Bridging the gap between old and new, the Nike Air Max 97 “Neon” is launching with VaporMax tooling. This appears to be a push for 2018 as an Air Max 95 of the same styling was previewed recently. This shoe will land on Air Max Day with a March 26th release date.
Also merging old and new, the Nike Air VaporMax Plus will launch in a retro referencing “Hyper Blue” take alongside this month’s “Triple Black” introduction. A quickstrike drop for the VaporMax Plus just happened on SNKRS with the official launch taking place on January 25th.
Keeping with the new tech, the Nike Air VaporMax 2.0 will also appear in an edgy Black/Teal-Hot Punch variation. Look for these to launch on Air Max Day, March 26.
Closing out the festivities and positioned as the headliner, the Nike Air Max 270 will drop in a Light Bone/Hot Punch colorway reminiscent of early Air Maxes from the advent of the tech. As disclosed in an unboxing breakdown from our own Ray P., this shoe is the first all-new Air Max designed strictly for lifestyle wear, taking inspiration from the Air Max 180 and Air Max 93, respectively. Check out detailed shots here and an unboxing video here. The Air Max 270 hits retailers on February 1st with more colorways hitting on March 2nd.
