1992 & 1993
During the early ’90s, Barkley had a tremendous run, specifically during the years of 1992 and 1993. First off, Barkley would be a part of the 1992 Dream Team that took home gold in Barcelona. The very next season during the 1992-93 campaign, Charles would garner league MVP honors while taking the Phoenix Suns all the way to the 1993 NBA Finals.
Many people would attribute MJ’s stellar performance during the ’93 Finals to his agitation of Barkley winning the award. Nonetheless, Nike decided to reward Barkley’s fine run the following year with yet another signature model in the form of the Nike Air Max2 CB ’94.
