Originally released in 1996 to a mass of followers, the Nike Air More Uptempo is closely circling its 20th anniversary. Next year marks two decades for this heavily branded shoe, and Nike is set to retro the revered style in celebratory fashion.
Worn by Scottie Pippen en route to a Chicago Bulls championship, the Nike Air More Uptempo is truly a cultural icon. Everyone had a pair (or multiple pairs). Everyone had a pair in their favorite color. And more often than not, we all have memories of what we encountered while wearing this shoe. That’s the legend of the Air More Uptempo. Not hype. Not lineups. And certainly not bots.
So, if any of those things follow this 2016 re-release (and more than likely they will), thankfully that legacy is already cemented and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Stay tuned to Nice Kicks for forthcoming release details.
