First debuted in 2003, the Nike Air Trainer 1 “Shima Shima” is making a comeback. At the time of its release this Japanese-inspired sneaker only dropped in Canada and Asia, meaning that this revival will be the first time the sneaker hits the States officially.
We’ve seen a lot of new colorways come down the Nike Air Trainer 1 pipeline as of lately. Considering the popularity of the Travis Scott x Nike Air Trainer 1 “Wheat,” we could see why Nike would make the decision to bring back the “Shima Shima,” as the pairs share complementary colorways. Made entirely out of suede, the upper has a “Hay” base with “Baroque Brown” overlays and a signature Nike Swoosh. “Taupe” adds tonal details to the sneaker and works to create a tan trifecta that matches the striped sockliner. Finishing details include a speckled midsole and red Kanji tongue tag.
The Nike Air Trainer 1 “Shima Shima” will be releasing later this year. Updates on the drop can be found on our Sneaker Release Dates page. The retail price is set at $125. To purchase, visit Nike.com and select retailers. For more sneaker news and updates, follow @NiceKicks on Twitter.
