Marion Franklin Rudy or “Frank Rudy” for short is the brilliant creator behind Nike’s Air technology. In 1978, the footwear label released the first ever shoe that featured the Air tech and forever changed the history of the sneaker world.

To celebrate his great achievement, Nike is releasing a special Nike Air Vapormax 2021 to honor the late engineer. The pair features a white knitted upper with yellow Nike Checks on each side, followed by black Vapormax branding on the pull tabs. Highlighting the silhouette are blue printed insoles covered in graphics. A California license plate hang tag with Nike Grind underneath the Vapormax Air Unit.

Despite limited release details, the Nike Air Vapormax 2021 “M. Frank Rudy” arrives later this year at Nike and select retailers for $210. Check out the images below and hit up our Sneaker Release Page for more updates on the latest drops.
