Having to cancel’s last year’s Elite Youth Basketball League, or simply EYBL, due to COVID-19, we didn’t get to see the Nike Kobe 5 Protro “EYBL” on the court from elite high school prospects across the country in 2020. With teams announced for the 2021 EYBL season, @regularolty on Instagram has posted a sneak peek of the Nike Kobe 6 Protro “EYBL.”
The upper in eggplant purple towards the midsole that gradients into a lavender into the tongue. A black Mamba logo is seen on the tongue with an all-black speckled midsole and external heel counter with the EYBL logo on the back. As far as technical specs, the Kobe 6 Protro uses a Cushlon midsole and a Zoom Turbo unit in the forefoot, which was introduced in the Nike Kyrie 5.
Information about whether this will hit retailers like previous EYBL editions or strictly be a PE for EYBL participants is still unknown. We will see them on-court this summer at EYBL tournaments and showcased at Nike Peach Jam which is the premier event of the EYBL.
