The world of sports in the 1990s was dominated by two prominent members — Michael Jordan and Andre Agassi. While one was draining jumpers, the other was winning Grand Slams on the regular. Known for his stylish hair and eccentric sense of fashion, Andre Agassi broke through the confines of tennis and made the game his own.
Without Andre Agassi, there is no Nike Air Tech Challenge II. And without the Tech Challenge, a lot of signature shoes and even silhouettes would not exist. The influence of the silhouette grew from the court and expanded into a lifestyle space that continued the legacy of Agassi himself.
Agassi and the Nike Air Tech Challenge II continue to influence the game as Nike introduces the NikeCourt Challenge 20 featuring similar components of the classic ’90s model. The shoe features a modified herringbone pattern and a Max Air unit that offers undeniable cushioning in the heel and helps create a smooth heel-to-toe transition. In addition to that, the classic “Nike Air” logo makes an appearance on the heel.
Take a closer look at the pair below. The NikeCourt Challenge 20 will be available exclusive to Nike Members on February 26 with a wide release on February 29 on Nike.com and select retailers.
