Signature sneakers for Nike athletes are getting more scarce and there hasn’t been a Nike athlete in the WNBA to get a signature sneaker since Diana Taurasi did back in 2006. This is all changing as Nike is giving former WNBA Champion and two-time MVP Elena Delle Donne a signature sneaker in the Nike DELDON 1.

Elena has been one of the faces of Nike’s FlyEase technology as her sister Lizzie, has cerebral palsy, autism, and is deaf and blind. Elena has talked about how Lizzie has inspired her in many ways and Elena was at the forefront of the Nike Zoom UNVRS which uses Nike’s FlyEase technology in a performance basketball sneaker back in 2019 and continued to be wearing FlyEase-equipped sneakers since its debut.

The sneaker uses a mix of mesh and leather on the upper with velcro featured on the medial and lateral sides for ease of access. The Swoosh is seen on the medial and lateral sides that extend around the heel as a heel counter and looks to be using Nike’s FlyEase technology. Elena’s EDD logo is seen stitched on the lateral side with DELDON branding seen on the heel counter. Going down into the midsole, the DELDON 1 looks to be using some sort of Zoom Air setup with a wavy outsole that extends up into the midsole on the lateral side of the shoe.

The Nike DELDON 1 is scheduled to drop in October 2022 via Nike.com and at select retailers. Check out the photos below and for all the latest drop dates, head over to our Sneaker Release Dates page.
