The Nike partnership the Oregon Health and Sciences University (OHSU) Doernbecher Children’s Hospital has raised over $33 million for the hospital since 2004.
Since its inception, the partnership has given patients from the hospital a platform to share their story through some of Nike’s marquee models. Each patient’s collection items feature adorned with intricate details, hidden messages and unexpected color palettes to represent their individual passions, life experiences, medical journeys and relationships.
Additionally, one hundred percent of the profits from retail sales of the Doernbecher Freestyle program are donated to the Oregon Health Sciences University Foundation (OHSUF) benefiting Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.

Air Jordan 3 “Doernbecher”
The 2023 Air Jordan 3 “Doernbecher” was designed by Hugo “Juice” Covarrubias Molina who was diagnosed with Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome, are disorder that causes one side of his body to grow larger than the other. Read more here.
Nike Air Max 1 ’86 OG “Doernbecher”
The Nike Air Max 1 ’86 OG “Doernbecher” was designed by Hailey Leyva, who was diagnosed with congenital cyanotic heart disease. For her shoe, she decided to honor her medical journey of five surgeries to fix the valves of her heart with a special heart-inspired shoe. Read more here.

Sydney Little is a talented artist and competitive swimmer who refuses to let the pain from her arthritis slow her down. Her design is a walking masterpiece filled with her hand-drawn artwork and features interchangeable patches so you can wear it your way on the heel. Read more here.
Nike Go FlyEase “Doernbecher”
The Nike Go FlyEase “Doernbecher” was designed by Christopher Musquiz Jr., who was struck by a car while biking to school and lost his leg. His shoe reflects his love of Japanese culture and features a wave pattern akin to classic Japanese art, a kimono-inspired wrap design and a cool graphic of Mt. Fuji on the tongue. Read more here.
Nike Dunk High “Doernbecher”
The Dunk High was designed by Macey Bodily who has a brain tumor and suffers from narcolepsy. The grey ribbon on the upper represents her status as a brain cancer survivor. This determined young lady loves baking and has a sweet surprise for you—inside her shoe, you’ll find the recipe to her world-famous, chocolate chip cookies. Read more here.
Nike ACG Mountain Fly 2 Low “Doernbecher”
The Doernbecher iteration was designed by Garrett Amerson who was diagnosed extreme prematurity as he weighed one pound, seven ounces when he was born 15 weeks early. Garrett’s shoe is an ode to the Pacific Northwest, with trees, mountains and a waterfall cascading down the tongue. He even added realistic mud splatters, so you never have to worry about getting it dirty. Read more here.
